Contributor Agreement

The Contract

Plain-English terms between you (the storyteller) and My Side Studios (we / us / the platform). Last updated June 26, 2026.

01

Full rights assignment — we own the episode

You irrevocably assign to My Side Studios the entire worldwide copyright and all related rights, in perpetuity, in (a) the transcript and edited script of your story, (b) the AI-generated voiceover, storyboards, score, and final rendered video, and (c) any derivative works (trailers, clips, posters, merch tie-ins, audiobook, scripted feature adaptation, documentary, scripted series, stage play, NFT, or any other format now known or invented later). We may produce, distribute, license, sell, exhibit theatrically, sublicense, modify, translate, dub, remaster, and exploit the episode and its derivatives without further permission from you and without any pushback.

You confirm the underlying story is yours to share, that you have removed (or have permission to disclose) any real names, identifying details, and third-party content, and you waive any moral rights to the maximum extent allowed by law.
02

Anonymity

Submissions are anonymous by default. We will not publish your legal name, handle, location, or contact information unless you explicitly opt in per-episode. We may still retain that information internally to pay you and to comply with the law.
03

Generation fees are non-refundable

When you spend credits to generate a voiceover, storyboard, or rendered video, those credits cover the third-party AI and rendering costs and our platform margin. Credits consumed are non-refundable, except when a render technically fails on our side, in which case credits are automatically refunded to your balance.
04

Auto-publishing to the gallery

The moment your paid render finishes successfully, it is automatically approved and added to our internal episode gallery. No additional editorial approval is required to enter the gallery. We reserve the right to remove any episode at any time for any reason — including, without limitation, claims of false statements, illegal content, third-party rights complaints, or platform policy violations.
05

Royalty: 25% of YouTube net revenue only

When (and only when) we elect to upload your episode to our official YouTube channel and YouTube actually pays us monetization revenue attributable to that episode, you earn twenty-five percent (25%) of the net revenue YouTube remits to us for that episode.

"Net" means after YouTube’s revenue share, payment processor fees, refunds, chargebacks, taxes withheld at source, and direct third-party costs (music licensing, sponsorship agency cuts, etc.) are deducted. Royalties are calculated and paid quarterly when your unpaid balance exceeds $50 USD, by the payout method on file. Balances below the threshold roll forward.
06

On-platform plays are promotional, not monetized

Views of your episode on mysidestudios.com (or any embedded player we operate) are considered promotional traffic, not a revenue event. We do not run ads against, sell subscriptions to, or otherwise monetize on-platform views, and therefore no royalty is owed on those views. The platform exists to drive traffic to the YouTube release where revenue is generated and shared with you.
07

No guarantee of a YouTube release

We choose which gallery episodes get uploaded to YouTube based on our editorial, technical, and commercial judgment. Submitting and generating an episode does not obligate us to upload it to YouTube, and you have no right to demand a YouTube release. An episode that never goes to YouTube generates no royalty.
08

360 deal — 5% of outside / theatrical / digital licensing

Because we own the episode outright (Section 1), we may license, sell, or distribute it and its derivatives to theatrical exhibitors, film studios, streaming services, broadcast networks, podcast networks, audiobook publishers, merchandise partners, gaming companies, advertisers, and any other third party, in any territory, on terms we negotiate in our sole discretion. We are not obligated to consult you, get your approval, or share creative control on any such deal.

As a goodwill share, you receive five percent (5%) of the net revenue we actually receive and collect from each such outside / theatrical / digital licensing transaction attributable to your specific episode. "Net" means after our distribution partners, agents, sales reps, attorneys, festival fees, music clearance, dubbing, marketing recoupment, refunds, chargebacks, taxes withheld at source, and any third-party participations are deducted. Sponsorship and merchandise revenue tied to the episode pays at 10% and 15% of net respectively. All outside-revenue royalties are paid on the same quarterly $50-minimum schedule as Section 5, and roll forward below threshold. This 5% is your entire participation in non-YouTube revenue; you have no other claim to the episode's earnings, ownership, control, or residuals.
09

Content rules

You may not submit content that: identifies a minor as a victim or perpetrator of a crime; doxxes, threatens, or defames a specific person; promotes ongoing criminal conspiracies; or violates any law. We screen for these before YouTube upload and may decline to publish without refund of generation fees.
10

Takedowns and account closure

You may request removal of your episode from our YouTube channel and gallery at any time. Removal stops new royalty accrual from the date of takedown; royalties earned prior to removal are paid out per Section 5. We may close your account for repeated policy violations or fraud and forfeit any unpaid balance acquired through fraud.
11

No employment, no partnership

Nothing in this agreement creates an employer-employee, agent, joint-venture, or partnership relationship between you and My Side Studios. You are an independent contributor. You are responsible for your own taxes on royalties paid.
12

Disclaimers and limits

The platform is provided "as is." To the maximum extent allowed by law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim related to your contribution is capped at the greater of (a) royalties paid to you in the prior 12 months, or (b) $100 USD. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
13

Changes to this agreement

We may update this agreement going forward. Material changes affecting royalty percentages or payment terms will apply only to episodes generated after the update; your existing episodes keep the terms in force on the date you generated them.
14

Acceptance

By checking the "I agree" box before generating a video, you confirm you are 18 or older and that you have read and accepted this agreement for the episode being generated.
